The chiropractic Practice of Dr Karen Isted is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. When you visit our website, make an enquiry or book a consultation with us, we will treat your personal information with the greatest of care.

How do we use your personal information?

We use your information to discuss a chiropractic or health enquiry, making an appointment and communicating with you with regards to information pertaining the practice. We are committed to protecting the privacy of any personal information you give to us and we will never share your personal information with any third-party marketing company.

What we will collect during the initial conversation and visit:

Your personal details such as name, address, DOB, email address, residential address, next of kin and medical aid name & number.
Chiropractic consultation will focus on the medical problem at hand as well as the relevant past medical history.

Who will have access to this information?

The practice consists out of Dr Karen Isted (the POPI Information Officer) who deals with the daily management of the practice’s diary. Our files are all hardcopy and filed away securely. Accessible only by the person mentioned above. Our payment system does not store any card or any other personal details and our computer is password protected. All electronic communication is protected by the PC security wall as well as by Microsoft Outlook’s protection of information system.

On occasion it may become necessary to share some of you personal and medical history with other medical professionals, such as in the event of a medical referral. This will happen only with your agreed and signed consent. As all businesses are now POPI legislated, your details will continue to be used within the accepted regulations.

Data Security

We want to keep your data safe, which is why we’ve put in place appropriate security measures to prevent it being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an authorised way, altered or shared. Every computer regularly prompts users to change the password. The security of Dr Karen Isted’s computer and storage systems, and access to them, is continuously monitored.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

Unfortunately, sending information over the internet is not completely secure. We will do our best to protect your personal data but we cannot completely guarantee the security of your data.
